This is so beautifully written! Egypt is never the ending — it is the evidence of a God who was working in every season even when you couldn't see His hand. And the dream He planted in you? He never forgot it. He was protecting it the whole time!
Your Egypt story reached down deep inside me awaking things I thought I’d overcome a long time ago - but I hadn’t. Thank you for allowing God to use you to write this piece. It has helped me so much. Beautifully written.
Hannah, we don't heal from Egypt seasons overnight. Look how long the Israelites were in that wilderness, at times even longing to return to Egypt. But God remained Faithful to them and to us. It takes time, but continue to trust God, your freedom is coming (and I'm praying for you)!
Thank you for reading, I am grateful you found value in my story.
Zia, there are many who are excellent writers, but not as many whom God chooses to communicate his message on His behalf for the benefit of His people. Your current offering is proof that we don’t live solely unto ourselves.
The apostle James tells us in his epistle that … our prayers are sometimes not answered because we ask amiss. In sum, we often don’t know what to pray for or how to pray. Your example resonates with many, I am sure, because this deficit in our ability to “submit” to God’s best for us is a choice that we must make on faith in the goodness and omniscience of God. In other words, we must, in practice, believe before we see.
I listen for God’s wisdom in everything that I hear. You offer that opportunity for me and… I am listening. Thank you… for me and many others I am sure!
Kevin, thank you so much for the encouragement and for seeing God's hand in this work. I do not take this assignment lightly. I know that in sharing my story and being vulnerable, God is using me to reach others, and in this season my only goal is to point as many people as I can to Jesus. If only one person finds hope in the Lord through my work, then every word will have been worth it.
We want what we want, and we want God to bless the plan we already made. Learning to trust His omniscience over our own limited visibility is the work of a lifetime, and I am still very much in that school.
Thank you for listening. And thank you for reminding me why this matters. Comments like yours keep me showing up.
Kevin, this made my heart smile. "I'm listening this time" might be the most powerful thing any of us can say to God. Moving from knowing He's speaking to actually leaning in to receive, is everything. I'm so glad this piece found you exactly when it needed to. That's not coincidence, that's God's precision.
Whew, this was so good! When I tell you my mouth was on the floor while reading this… wow. As always, thank you for the transparency and realness you pour into these blog posts. The way you shared your “Egypt season” with such honesty is powerful.
“He will use the whole story, even the parts we’re ashamed of, to redirect us toward purpose” — that part truly stayed with me. So needed. So good. 🤍
Since you know more of the backstory than most, hearing that it touched you in some way means so much to me That's the thing about transparency, it's scary every single time, but God always shows up in it and uses it to move others.
I love you for always showing up for me in this space. And since I'm over here watching everything you do and taking notes, your support is extra special to me.
Thanks so much, Eunice! I’m glad you found something that had personal value for you, I really appreciate your sharing it too.
It’s interesting how we can look back on valley moments in our lives and in our maturity in Christ can see the experience through a much different lens. There was once a time when the thought of that time in my life would be so triggering, and now I can see all the ways God used that experience, for as hard as it was, for good. I’m so grateful I can share my testimony now without anger or shame. God is so faithful!
Zia, thank you for sharing. Your story shows God as phōs, light that helps us see clearly and make the right choices. Even in messy, confusing seasons, He shows what is real and where to go. “I am the light of the world…” (John 8:12 NLT) proves His presence guides us forward.

That's heavy, Zia.
And fortunately/unfortunately, it's exactly what I needed to hear. I've been feeling like God has been whispering to me for a while now...
Anyhow, thank you for this beautiful message that hit me exactly the way it was meant to.
Thank you, Lord. I'm listening this time.
